HPE defends Juniper acquisition amid DOJ lawsuit and competition concerns

The U.S. Department of Justice has initiated a lawsuit against HPE over its proposed $14 billion acquisition of Juniper Networks, claiming it could stifle competition. HPE argues that the deal would enhance competition against Cisco and Huawei, as the WLAN market is already dominated by Cisco, which holds a 50% share. With 14 other jurisdictions approving the acquisition, HPE believes the DOJ's challenge is unlikely to succeed, warning that blocking the deal could increase U.S. reliance on Chinese technology.
